In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
Read! In the name of your Lord, who created: 1 created man out of a germ-cell 2 Read! Your Lord is the Most Bountiful One 3 who, by the pen, taught the human being: 4 Taught man that which he knew not. 5 Indeed, surely the human is very insolent 6 because he thinks that he is independent. 7 for, behold, unto thy Sustainer all must return. 8 Did you see him who forbids 9 A bondman when he offers the prayer? 10 Have you seen if he is upon guidance 11 or bade to godfearing -- 12 Have you thought that if he denies and turns away, 13 Is he then unaware that Allah seeth? 14 Indeed, if he does not desist, We will seize him by the forelock, 15 the lying, rebellious forehead! 16 So let him now call his gang! 17 We shall call the guards of Hell. 18 No, not at all. Never obey him. But prostrate yourself and become nigh (to your Lord). ۩ 19
