Al-Aadeyaat
The Galloppers (Al-Aadeyaat)
11 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Afternoon (Al-'Asr) before Bounty (Al-Kawthar)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
I CALL TO witness the chargers, snorting, rushing to battle before the others, 1 then raise sparks of fire (by their hoofs), 2 And scouring to the raid at dawn 3 raising a trail of dust, 4 thereby storming [blindly] into any host! 5 The human being is certainly ungrateful to his Lord. 6 And indeed, he is to that a witness. 7 And most surely he is tenacious in the love of wealth. 8 ۞ Knoweth he not - when that which is in the graves shall be ransacked? 9 And the secrets of the hearts exposed, 10 On that day their Lord surely knows all about them! 11
True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
