The Shocker (Al-Qaare'ah)
11 verses, revealed in Mecca after Quraish (Quraish) before Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
OH, the sudden calamity! 1 What is the (Day) of Noise and Clamour? 2 Ah, what will convey unto thee what the Calamity is! 3 (It is) a Day whereon men will be like moths scattered about, 4 And the mountains shall be as loosened wool. 5 And then, he whose weight [of good deeds] is heavy in the balance 6 shall live in a life which is pleasing, 7 but he whose weight is light in the Scale, 8 shall plunge in the womb of the Pit. 9 What will convey to you what this is like? 10 It is the scorching fire. 11
