Hoarding (Al-Takaathur)

8 verses, revealed in Mecca after Bounty (Al-Kawthar) before Charity (Al-Maa'oon)

In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace

The excessive gathering (of increase and boasting) occupied you (from worshipping and obeying) 1 Till you reach the grave. 2 No indeed; but soon you shall know. 3 And once again: Nay, in time you will come to understand! 4 Nay! If you knew with a sure knowledge (the end result of piling up, you would not have occupied yourselves in worldly things) 5 Ye shall certainly see Hell-Fire! 6 Aye, ye will behold it with sure vision. 7 and on that Day you will most surely be called to account for [what you did with] the boon of life! 8
