Hoarding (Al-Takaathur)

8 verses, revealed in Mecca after Bounty (Al-Kawthar) before Charity (Al-Maa'oon)

In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful

The desire to have more of the worldly gains have pre-occupied you so much (that you have neglected remembring God), 1 until you go down to your graves. 2 Nay, you will soon come to know; 3 Again, no indeed; but soon you shall know. 4 Nay, if you could but understand [it] with an understanding [born] of certainty, 5 You should most certainly have seen the hell; 6 Then ye shall surely behold with the surety of vision. 7 Then on that Day you shall be questioned about your worldly favours. 8

Allah Almighty has spoken the truth.
