Al-Hummazah

The Backbiter (Al-Hummazah)

9 verses, revealed in Mecca after Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah) before Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)

In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful

Woe to every fault-finding back-biter, 1 Who amasses wealth and considers it a provision (against mishap); 2 He thinks that his wealth will make him immortal. 3 By no means. He will be thrown into Hutama. 4 Would that you knew what hutamah is! 5 It is the fire kindled by Allah, 6 The which doth mount (Right) to the Hearts: 7 It will engulf them. 8 In pillars stretched forth (i.e. they will be punished in the Fire with pillars, etc.). 9

Allah Almighty has spoken the truth.
