And indeed We rescued the Descendants of Israel from a disgraceful torture. 30 From Fir'aun (Pharaoh); Verily! He was arrogant and was of the Musrifun (those who transgress beyond bound in spending and other things and commit great sins). 31 And We exalted them over the other people knowingly, 32 And We vouchsafed unto them signs wherein was a manifest favour. 33 Lo! these, forsooth, are saying: 34 “There is nothing except our dying just once, and we will not be raised.” 35 So bring our fathers (back), if you are truthful. 36 Are they better, or the people of Tubba? And those who were before them? We destroyed them; they were indeed criminals. 37 For [thus it is:] We have not created the heavens and the earth and all that is between them in mere idle play: 38 We did not create them except in Truth. But most of them do not know. 39 Verily the Day of sorting out is the time appointed for all of them,- 40 The Day when no relation will avail a relation at all, nor will they be helped - 41 Except those upon whom Allah has mercy; indeed He only is the Most Honourable, the Most Merciful. 42
