The Backbiter (Al-Hummazah)

9 verses, revealed in Mecca after Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah) before Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)

In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace

Woe to every scorner and mocker 1 [Woe unto him who amasses wealth and counts it a safeguard, 2 He bethinketh that his wealth shall abide for him. 3 By no means! He shall surely be cast into the Crushing Fire. 4 Would that you understood what that crushing torment is like. 5 It is a fierce fire created by God 6 which will rise over the [guilty] hearts: 7 It shall be made into a vault over them, 8 in endless columns! 9

True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
