Al-Hummazah

The Backbiter (Al-Hummazah)

9 verses, revealed in Mecca after Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah) before Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)

In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful

Woe to every backbiter, slanderer 1 Who amasses wealth and hordes it. 2 He thinks that his wealth will make him immortal. 3 Nay, but verily he will be flung to the Consuming One. 4 And what will make you know what the crushing Fire is? 5 The Fire of God kindled 6 The which doth mount (Right) to the Hearts: 7 (And) vaults them over 8 in towering columns. 9

True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
