The Backbiter (Al-Hummazah)
9 verses, revealed in Mecca after Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah) before Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
Woe unto every backbiter, slanderer, 1 Who has gathered wealth and counted it, 2 Does he think that his wealth will prolong his stay on earth forever? 3 No! He will surely be thrown into the Crusher. 4 And what do you know what the Crusher is? 5 (It is) the kindled Fire of Allah, 6 which shall oversee the hearts, 7 Lo! it is closed in on them 8 In extended columns. 9
