Al-Hummazah

The Backbiter (Al-Hummazah)

9 verses, revealed in Mecca after Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah) before Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)

In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful

Woe to every backbiter, slanderer 1 Who amasseth wealth; and counteth it. 2 Does he think that his wealth will prolong his stay on earth forever? 3 No! He will surely be thrown into the Crusher. 4 Would that you knew what hutamah is! 5 It is the fire kindled by Allah, 6 to penetrate into the hearts. 7 (And) vaults them over 8 In pillars stretched forth (i.e. they will be punished in the Fire with pillars, etc.). 9

God Almighty has spoken the truth.
