Thorns (Al-Masad)

5 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Key (Al-Faatehah) before The Rolling (Al-Takweer)

In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful

Perdition overtake both hands of Abu Lahab, and he will perish. 1 What will his wealth avail him, and all that he has gained? 2 He will suffer in a blazing fire 3 And his wife, the wood-carrier, 4 Will have a strap of fibre rope around her neck. 5

True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
