۞ But those who do not believe that they are destined to meet Us are wont to say: "Why have no angels been sent down to us?" - or, "Why do we not see our Sustainer?" Indeed, they are far too proud of themselves, having rebelled [against God's truth] with utter disdain! 21 On the Day when they behold the angels, there will be no glad tidings for the sinners. They will say: 'A refuge which is forbidden' 22 And We shall set upon that which they worked, and shall make it as dust wind-scattered. 23 Those who have earned the Garden on that day will be better in their home and happier in their place of noonday rest; 24 Upon the day that heaven is split asunder with the clouds and the angels are sent down in majesty, 25 on that Day [it will become obvious to all that] true sovereignty belongs to the Most Gracious [alone]: hence, a Day of distress will it be for all who deny the truth, 26 It will be a hard day for the unbelievers. It will be a day when the unjust will bite their fingers, (regretfully) saying, "Would that we had followed the path of the Messengers. 27 “Woe to me – alas, if only I had not taken that one for a friend.” 28 He verily led me astray from the Reminder after it had reached me. Satan was ever man's deserter in the hour of need. 29 And the Apostle will say: my Lord! verily my people took this Qur'an as a thing to be shunned. 30 And this is how We had appointed guilty people as enemies to every Prophet; and Allah is Sufficient, to guide and to aid. 31 And those who disbelieve say: wherefore is the Qur'an not revealed unto him entire at once! Thus - We reveal - that We may establish thy heart therewith; and We have repeated it with a repetition. 32 And no example or similitude do they bring (to oppose or to find fault in you or in this Quran), but We reveal to you the truth (against that similitude or example), and the better explanation thereof. 33 Those who will be dragged headlong into Hell shall have an evil place to dwell in, for they have strayed far from the right path. 34
