Therefor warn (men, O Muhammad). By the grace of Allah thou art neither soothsayer nor madman. 29 Do they say: "He is a poet for whom we expect an adverse turn of fortune?" 30 Say thou: "Await ye!- I too will wait along with you!" 31 Is this what their senses tell them, or are they a rebellious people? 32 Do they say: 'He has invented it' No, they do not believe. 33 (If they are truthful in this), then let them produce a discourse of similar splendour. 34 Did they come into being without any creator? Or were they their own creators? 35 [And] have they created the heavens and the earth? Nay, but they have no certainty of anything! 36 [How could they?] Are thy Sustainer's treasures with them? Or are they in charge [of destiny]? 37 Do they have a ladder (by which they can climb up to the heavens) and listen (to the angels) and come back to the rest of the people with clear authority? 38 Or does Allah have daughters whereas you have sons? 39 Or askest thou a hire from them so that they are with debt laden? 40 Or possess they the Unseen so that they can write (it) down? 41 Or do they want to entrap [thee in contradictions]? But they who are bent on denying the truth - it is they who are truly entrapped! 42 Or have they an ilah (a god) other than Allah? Glorified be Allah from all that they ascribe as partners (to Him) 43 Even if they saw lumps falling from the sky they would say: 'A massed cloud' 44 So, leave them until they face their day (of doom) when they will be stunned. 45 the Day when none of their scheming will be of the least avail to them, and they will receive no succour. 46 And verily for those who do wrong there is a torment before that; but most of them know not. 47 And so, await in patience thy Sustainer's judgment, for thou art well within Our sight. And extol thy Sustainer's limitless glory and praise whenever thou risest up, 48 And in the night-time also hymn His praise, and at the setting of the stars. 49
