The men of the Thicket cried lies to the Envoys 176 Shu'ayb said to them, "Will you not fear God? 177 I have been sent as a trusted messenger to you. 178 be, then, conscious of God, and pay heed unto me! 179 I ask of you no wage for this; my wage is only with the Lord of the Worlds. 180 ۞ Give full measure, and cause no loss to others. 181 Weigh your goods with proper balance 182 "And withhold not things justly due to men, nor do evil in the land, working mischief. 183 Fear Him who created you, and the generations of the ancients.' 184 They said: Thou art but one of the bewitched; 185 And thou art but a human being like unto us, and we deem thee to be of the liars. 186 Then drop down on us lumps from heaven, if thou art one of the truthful.' 187 He said: My Lord knows best what you do. 188 They rejected him and then the torment of the gloomy day struck them. It was certainly a great torment. 189 In this [story,] behold, there is a message [unto men,] even though most of them will not believe [in it]. 190 And indeed, your Lord - He is the Exalted in Might, the Merciful. 191
