Whatever misfortune befalls you is of your own doing, God forgives much, 30 Ye cannot escape in the earth, for beside Allah ye have no protecting friend nor any helper. 31 And among His signs are the ships sailing on the sea, like hills. 32 If He will He calmeth the wind so that they keep still upon its surface - Lo! herein verily are signs for every steadfast grateful (heart). - 33 He may, while forgiving much of the sins of those that ride these ships, drown them on account of some of their misdeeds. 34 And for those who dispute regarding Our signs to realise; that they do not have a place to escape to. 35 So whatever you have been given is but a passing enjoyment for this worldly life, but that which is with Allah (Paradise) is better and more lasting for those who believe (in the Oneness of Allah Islamic Monotheism) and put their trust in their Lord (concerning all of their affairs). 36 And those who avoid the major sins and indecencies and, when angered, forgive; 37 who obey their Lord and establish Prayer; who conduct their affairs by consultation, and spend out of what We have bestowed upon them; 38 And those who, when an oppressive wrong is done to them, they take revenge. 39 The recompense for an injury is an injury equal thereto (in degree): but if a person forgives and makes reconciliation, his reward is due from Allah: for (Allah) loveth not those who do wrong. 40 And whosoever harms after he has been harmed there is no blame upon them. 41 The way (of blame) is only against those who oppress mankind, and wrongfully rebel in the earth. For such there is a painful doom. 42 But he who patiently endures and forgives, that is a conduct of great resolve. 43
