The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
When the sun shall be darkened, 1 when the stars shall scatter away, 2 when the mountains shall be set in motion, 3 the young barren camels are abandoned, 4 And when the wild beasts are herded together, 5 And when the seas shall become as blazing Fire or shall overflow; 6 And when souls are reunited, 7 And when the female infant buried alive is asked 8 Upon what sin was she killed for. 9 when the scrolls are unrolled, 10 and when heaven is laid bare, 11 and when Hell is set ablaze, 12 and Paradise brought nigh: 13 then, each soul shall know what it has produced. 14 Oh, but I call to witness the planets, 15 The planets withdrawing into themselves, 16 And by the night as it departs; 17 and the morn as it softly breathes: 18 That this is indeed the word of an honoured Messenger, 19 with strength endowed, secure with Him who in almightiness is enthroned 20 Obeyed and worthy there of trust. 21 And your companion is not [at all] mad. 22 in truth he saw him (Gabriel) on the clear horizon, 23 nor does he grudge (conveying this knowledge about) the Unseen; 24 Nor is this the utterance of a devil worthy to be stoned. 25 where then are you going? 26 It is not except a reminder to the worlds 27 Unto whomsoever of you willeth to walk straight. 28 but will you shall not, unless God wills, the Lord of all Being. 29
