The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ When the heaven bursts asunder, 1 and obeys its Lord as it must, 2 and when the earth is leveled, 3 And it unburdens itself of all that is in it, and becomes empty. 4 And it hearkeneth to its Lord, and is duteous. 5 O man, indeed you have to surely run towards your Lord, and to meet him. 6 Then as to him who is given his book in his right hand, 7 He truly will receive an easy reckoning 8 And will return to his family in joy! 9 But he who is given his Record behind his back,- 10 he shall call for destruction 11 And will go into the blazing fire. 12 Truly, did he go about among his people, rejoicing! 13 and surely thought he would never return (to his Lord). 14 Yes indeed, his Lord was ever watching him. 15 Nay; I swear by the twilight; 16 And by oath of the night and all that gathers in it. 17 And the moon when it grows full, 18 you shall proceed onwards from stage to stage. 19 But what is the matter with them that they do not believe, 20 Why, when the Quran is recited to them, do they not prostrate themselves? ۩ 21 Nay, but those who disbelieve will deny; 22 But Allah has full knowledge of what they secrete (in their breasts) 23 Therefore, give them the news of a painful punishment. 24 except for those who believe and do good deeds. Theirs shall be an unending reward. 25
