Al-Infitaar
Shattering (Al-Infitaar)
19 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat) before The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
۞ When the heaven shall be cleft, 1 the stars are dispersed, 2 the oceans are merged together, 3 when the tombs are overthrown, 4 A soul will know what it hath sent before (it) and what left behind. 5 O mankind, what has deceived you concerning your Lord, the Generous, 6 Who created thee, then fashioned, then proportioned thee? 7 and composed thee after what form He would? 8 Nay, but ye deny the Judgment. 9 Surely there are guardians over you, 10 Noble and recording; 11 and these honorable scribes know whatever you do. 12 As for the Righteous, they will be in bliss; 13 And indeed the sinners are in hell. 14 [a fire] which they shall enter on Judgment Day, 15 And will not be absent thence. 16 What could let you know what the Day of Recompense is! 17 Again, what shall make thee know whatsoever the Day of Requital is? 18 It is a Day whereon no soul shall own aught of power for any soul; and the command on that Day will be Allah's. 19
