Al-Hijjr 3 of 6
Verily We created man of potter's clay of black mud altered, 26 And created the jinn before him, from smokeless fire. 27 Behold! thy Lord said to the angels: "I am about to create man, from sounding clay from mud moulded into shape; 28 "So, when I have fashioned him completely and breathed into him (Adam) the soul which I created for him, then fall (you) down prostrating yourselves unto him." 29 Then the angels bowed themselves all together, 30 Except Iblis (Satan); he refused to be among those who prostrated. 31 Said He: "O Iblis! What is thy reason for not being among those who have prostrated themselves?" 32 He answered, “It does not befit me to prostrate myself to a human whom You have created from sounding clay made out of black smelly mud.” 33 He said: Then get out of it, for surely you are driven away: 34 And lo! the curse shall be upon thee till the Day of Judgment. 35 Said he, 'My Lord, respite me till the day they shall be raised.' 36 Allah said: "For sure you are granted respite 37 Till the Day of appointed time. 38 He said: My Lord! Because Thou hast sent me astray, I verily shall adorn the path of error for them in the earth, and shall mislead them every one, 39 except those of Your servants whom You have singled out for Yourself." 40 Said He, 'This is for Me a straight path: 41 over My worshipers you have no authority, except the perverse that follow you. 42 For whom the ordained place is surely Hell, 43 it has seven gates: and each gate has a portion of them allotted to it. 44

Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
