Is it not clear to those who inherit the earth in succession from its (previous) possessors, that had We willed, We would have punished them for their sins. And We seal up their hearts so that they hear not? 100 We have told you the stories of those towns: their messengers came to them with clear signs, but they were never going to believe in something they had already rejected. Thus God seals up the hearts of those who deny the truth. 101 We found most of them untrue to their covenants, indeed We found most of them to be defiant. 102 Then, after them, We sent Moses with our tokens unto Pharaoh and his chiefs, but they repelled them. Now, see the nature of the consequence for the corrupters! 103 Moses said, 'Pharaoh, I am a Messenger from the Lord of all Being, 104 (I am) worthy of not saying anything about Allah except the truth: I have come to you indeed with clear proof from your Lord, therefore send with me the children of Israel 105 He answered: 'If you have come with a sign, show it to us if you are of the truthful' 106 Thereupon he cast down his rod, when, lo it was a serpent manifest. 107 and he drew forth his hand, and it appeared [shining] white to the beholders. 108
