And the dwellers of Al Hijr also belied the Messengers. 80 We sent them Our Signs, but they persisted in turning away from them. 81 And they used to hew out dwellings from the hills, (wherein they dwelt) secure. 82 the blast overtook them early one morning. 83 And all that which they used to earn availed them not. 84 We did not create the heavens and the earth, and what is between them except in truth. The Hour is sure to come, therefore, forgive them with a gracious pardon. 85 Your Lord is certainly the All-knowing Creator. 86 And We have bestowed upon thee the Seven Oft-repeated (verses) and the Grand Qur'an. 87 Do not direct your eyes towards the things We have given to some of their couples to enjoy, and do not at all grieve because of them, and take the Muslims within the folds of your mercy. 88 And proclaim, “Indeed I, yes I, am the clear Herald of Warning.” 89 even as We had sent warning to those who had divided their religion into fragments; 90 And severed their Scripture into fragments. 91 Therefore, by your Lord, We shall question every one of them. 92 Of what they used to do. 93 (O Prophet), proclaim what you are commanded, and pay no heed to those who associate others with Allah in His Divinity. 94 We will, surely, suffice you against those who mock, 95 Who make [equal] with Allah another deity. But they are going to know. 96 We certainly know that their statements sorely grieve you. 97 Exalt with the praise of your Lord and be one of those who prostrate. 98 And serve your Lord until there comes to you that which is certain. 99
