Do not those who deny the truth see that the heavens and the earth were joined together and that We then split them asunder? And that We have made every living thing out of water? Will they still not believe? 30 And We have placed in the earth firm hills lest it quake with them, and We have placed therein ravines as roads that haply they may find their way. 31 And We have made the heaven a roof, safe and well guarded. Yet they turn away from its signs (i.e. sun, moon, winds, clouds, etc.). 32 It is He who created night and day, the sun and the moon, revolving on its orbit. 33 We made no mortal before you immortal. Will they become immortal after you die? 34 Every soul is going to taste of death, and We shall prove you with evil and good as a temptation; and unto Us ye shall be returned. 35 When the Unbelievers see thee, they treat thee not except with ridicule. "Is this," (they say), "the one who talks of your gods?" and they blaspheme at the mention of (Allah) Most Gracious! 36 Man is hasty by nature. I shall certainly show you My Signs. Do not ask Me to be hasty. 37 Yet they say: "When will the promised threat come to pass, if you speak the truth?" 38 If only the unbelievers knew of the Hour when they shall not be able to keep off the Fire from their faces, nor from their backs; nor shall they be helped. 39 Nay, but it will come upon them unawares so that it will stupefy them, and they will be unable to repel it, neither will they be reprieved. 40 Mocked were (many) messenger before thee; But their scoffers were hemmed in by the thing that they mocked. 41
