Hast thou not observed thine lord - how He hath stretched out the shadow? And if He had willed He would have made it still. Then We have made the sun for it an indication. 45 Then He reduces it in gradual steps. 46 And it is He Who makes the night a covering for you, and the sleep (as) repose, and makes the day Nushur (i.e. getting up and going about here and there for daily work, etc. after one's sleep at night or like resurrection after one's death). 47 And it is He who has loosed the winds, bearing good tidings before His mercy; and We sent down from heaven pure water 48 That We may give life thereby to a dead land, and We give many beasts and men that We have created to drink thereof. 49 And indeed We kept cycles of water among them that they may remember; so most men did not accept, except to be ungrateful. 50 If We willed, We could raise up a warner in every village. 51 hence, do not defer to [the likes and dislikes of] those who deny the truth, but strive hard against them, by means of this [divine writ,] with utmost striving. 52 ۞ It is He who made two bodies of water flow side by side, one fresh (and) sweet, the other brine (and) bitter, and has placed an interstice, a barrier between them. 53 It is He who has created human beings from water and He has granted them the ties of blood as well as marriage. Your Lord is all powerful. 54 And they serve besides Allah that which neither profits them nor causes them harm; and the unbeliever is a partisan against his Lord. 55 And We have not sent you (O dear Prophet Mohammed – peace and blessings be upon him) except as a Herald of glad tidings and warnings. 56 Say, "I do not ask you for any recompense for this except that anyone who so wishes should take the right path to his Lord." 57 And rely upon the Ever-Living who does not die, and exalt [Allah] with His praise. And sufficient is He to be, with the sins of His servants, Acquainted - 58 Who created the heavens and the earth and all that is between them in six Days, then He mounted the Throne. The Beneficent! Ask anyone informed concerning Him! 59 When it is said to them: 'Prostrate yourselves before the Merciful', they ask: 'And what is the Merciful? Shall we prostrate ourselves to whatever you bid us' And it increases their aversion. ۩ 60
