(The tribe of) A’ad denied the Noble Messengers. 123 when their brother Hood said to them, 'Will you not be godfearing? 124 Indeed, I am to you a trustworthy messenger. 125 So fear Allah and obey me. 126 And I ask of you no wage therefor; my wage is the concern only of the Lord of the Worlds. 127 Build ye on every eminence a landmark in vanity? 128 And seek ye out strongholds, that haply ye may last for ever? 129 And when you strike, you strike as tyrants. 130 "Now fear Allah, and obey me. 131 “Fear Him Who has aided you with the things you know.” 132 Provided you with grazing livestock and children 133 gardens and fountains. 134 for, verily, I fear lest suffering befall you on an awesome day!" 135 They said, 'Alike it is to us, whether thou admonishest, or art not one of the admonishers; 136 "This is no other than the false-tales and religion of the ancients, [Tafsir At-Tabari, Vol. 19, Page 97] 137 We will not be subjected to any chastisement." 138 And they denied him, so We destroyed them. Indeed in that is a sign, but most of them were not to be believers. 139 And most surely your Lord is the Mighty, the Merciful. 140

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
