Indeed this is a revelation from the Lord of the Universe; 192 The Trustworthy Spirit has brought it down 193 To thy heart and mind, that thou mayest admonish. 194 In the perspicuous Arabic tongue. 195 Without doubt it is (announced) in the mystic Books of former peoples. 196 Is it not a token for them that the doctors of the Children of Israel know it? 197 And if We had revealed it unto one of any other nation than the Arabs, 198 And he had read it unto them, they would not have believed in it. 199 We have thus caused denial of truth to enter into the hearts of the sinners: 200 They will not believe in it until they see the painful punishment. 201 that will come upon them [on resurrection,] all of a sudden, without their being aware [of its approach]; 202 They will say, "Can we be granted any respite?" 203 Do they then ask for Our Penalty to be hastened on? 204 But hast thou ever considered [this]: If We do allow them to enjoy [this life] for some years, 205 And then there cometh unto them that which they had been promised. 206 So of what benefit will be the comforts that they were using? 207 And never did We destroy a township which did not have Heralds of warning, 208 By way of admonition, and We have never been oppressors. 209 And the satans have not brought it down. 210 they are not supposed to do so. Nor do have they the ability for such a task. 211 Truly, they are expelled from hearing. 212 So call not upon another god with Allah, lest you be of those who are punished. 213 and warn your nearest kinsmen; 214 and lower your wing to the believers who follow you. 215 Then if they disobey you say to them: "I am quit of what you do." 216 And put your trust in the All-Mighty, the Most Merciful, 217 who can see whether you stand up 218 And your movement among those who prostrate. 219 Verily He! He is the Hearer, the Knower. 220 Shall I tell you on whom the satans descend? 221 They descend on every lying sinner, 222 who lends an ear to them, and most of them are liars. 223 And the poets -- the perverse follow them; 224 Observest thou not, that they wander about every vale. 225 And that they say what they do not do. 226 Except those who believe and do good and remember Allah much, and defend themselves after they are oppressed; and they who act unjustly shall know to what final place of turning they shall turn back. 227
True are the words of God the Almighty.
