Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)
52 verses, revealed in Mecca after Kingship (Al-Mulk) before The Heights (Al-Ma'aarej)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ The Resurrection Verifier; 1 And what is that indubitable event? 2 And what will make thee realise what the Sure Reality is? 3 Thamood and Aad belied the Clatterer. 4 As for Thamood, they were destroyed by the Screamer; 5 and the 'Ad were destroyed by a furious wind 6 Which He imposed on them for seven long nights and eight long days so that thou mightest have seen men lying overthrown, as they were hollow trunks of palm-trees. 7 Now dost thou see any remnant of them? 8 And Firon and those before him and the overthrown cities continuously committed sins. 9 When they disobeyed the apostle of their Lord He seized them with an overwhelming punishment. 10 Verily when the water rose to great heights, We bore you upon a floating vessel (i.e. the Ark) 11 so that We might make it an instructive event for you, and retentive ears might preserve its memory. 12 When a single blast is blown on the trumpet, 13 and the earth and the mountains shall be lifted up and crushed with a single stroke! 14 then, on that day, the Terror shall come to pass, 15 And the sky will be rent asunder, for it will that Day be flimsy, 16 and will turn frail, losing all force. The angels will be around the heavens and on that day eight of them will carry the Throne of your Lord above all the creatures. 17 You will then be set before Him, and not one of you will remain unexposed. 18 Then, he who is given his book in his right hand will say: 'Here, take and read my book! 19 I was certain I'll be given my account." 20 So he shall be in a life of pleasure, 21 in a lofty Garden, 22 The fruits of which are near at hand: 23 "Eat ye and drink ye, with full satisfaction; because of the (good) that ye sent before you, in the days that are gone!" 24 And as for him who is given his book in his left hand he shall say: O would that my book had never been given me: 25 And not known my account! 26 "Ah! Would that (Death) had made an end of me! 27 My wealth has availed me nothing: 28 My power hath gone from me. 29 (It will be said): 'Take him and bind him. 30 "And burn ye him in the Blazing Fire. 31 Then into a chain whose length is seventy cubits insert him." 32 for, behold, he did not believe in God, the Tremendous, 33 “And did not urge to feed the needy.” 34 Wherefore for him here this Day there is no friend. 35 Nor any food except from the discharge of wounds; 36 that none excepting the sinners eat.' 37

قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
