Y S (Yaa Seen)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
O THOU human being! 1 By the Qur'an full of wisdom. 2 verily, thou art indeed one of God's message-bearers, 3 On a Straight Path (i.e. on Allah's religion of Islamic Monotheism). 4 with a revelation sent down by the Mighty One, the Merciful, 5 so that you may warn a people whose ancestors were not warned before wherefore they are heedless. 6 Already hath the judgment, (for their infidelity) proved true of most of them, for they believe not. 7 Behold, around their necks We have put shackles, reaching up to their chins, so that their heads are forced up; 8 And We have put a bar in front of them and a bar behind them, and further, We have covered them up; so that they cannot see. 9 It is all the same for them whether you warn them or do not warn them for they shall not believe. 10 Thou only warnest him who follows the Remembrance and who fears the All-merciful in the Unseen; so give him the good tidings of forgiveness and a generous wage. 11 It is We who bring the dead to life and records the deeds of human beings and their consequences (of continual effects). We keep everything recorded in an illustrious Book. 12
