3/4 Hizb 45
< random >
And indeed, [it was for this reason that] Noah cried unto Us - and how excellent was Our response: 75 And We delivered him and his people from the great affliction. 76 and caused his offspring to endure [on earth]; 77 And We kept his praise among the latter generations. 78 Peace be upon Noah among all the nations. 79 This is how We reward the virtuous. 80 Verily he was of Our bondmen believing. 81 We then drowned the others. 82 ۞ Abraham was one of his followers. 83 When he came to his Lord with a heart compliant, 84 When he said to his father and his people: What is it that you worship? 85 Do you want to worship false idols as your lords besides God? 86 What think you then of the Lord of all Being?' 87 Then he glanced a glance on the stars. 88 and said, "Verily, I am sick [at heart]!" 89 So they went away from him, turning back. 90 Then he turned to their aliha (gods) and said: "Will you not eat (of the offering before you)? 91 What is wrong with you that you do not speak?" 92 And then he fell upon them, smiting them with his right hand. 93 Then they advanced toward him, hastening. 94 "Why do you worship these you carve yourselves," he asked, 95 "When God has created you and what you make?" 96 They said, “Construct a building (furnace) for him, and then cast him in the blazing fire!” 97 They wanted to harm him, but We humiliated them all. 98 And [Abraham] said: "Verily, I shall [leave this land and] go wherever my Sustainer will guide me!" 99 "My Lord! Grant me (offspring) from the righteous." 100 (In response to this prayer) We gave him the good news of a prudent boy; 101 And, when he (his son) was old enough to walk with him, he said: "O my son! I have seen in a dream that I am slaughtering you (offer you in sacrifice to Allah), so look what you think!" He said: "O my father! Do that which you are commanded, Insha' Allah (if Allah will), you shall find me of As-Sabirin (the patient ones, etc.)." 102 When they submitted to the will of God, and (Abraham) laid (his son) down prostrate on his temple, 103 We cried unto him: O Ibrahim 104 you have fulfilled what you were commanded to do in your dream." Thus do We reward the righteous ones. 105 Lo! that verily was a clear test. 106 Then We ransomed him with a tremendous victim. 107 And We left for him (a goodly remembrance) among generations (to come) in later times. 108 Peace be upon Abraham. 109 Indeed, We thus reward the doers of good. 110 he was among Our believing servants. 111 And We gave him the glad tidings of Is-haq, a prophet, and of the righteous. 112 We blessed him and Ishaque (Isaac), and of their progeny are (some) that do right, and some that plainly wrong themselves. 113
