A believer, a man from among the people of Pharaoh, who had concealed his faith, said, "Would you slay a man merely because he says, "My Lord is God." He has brought you clear signs from your Lord, and if he is lying, the sin of his will be on his own head; but if he is truthful, a part of that of which he warns you will surely befall you. Certainly, God does not guide one who is a transgressor and a liar. 28 "O my people! Yours is the kingdom this day, you are uppermost in the land. But who will save us from the Torment of Allah, should it befall us?" Fir'aun (Pharaoh) said: "I show you only that which I see (correct), and I guide you only to the path of right policy!" 29 And he who believed said: "O my people! Verily, I fear for you a fate like that day (of disaster) of the Confederates (of old)! 30 Like the custom of the people of Noah and of 'Aad and Thamud and those after them. And Allah wants no injustice for [His] servants. 31 My people, I am afraid for you on (the Day of Judgment), when people will cry for help. 32 “A day when you will turn back fleeing; none can save you from Allah; and whomever Allah sends astray, there is no guide for him.” 33 "And [remember:] it was to you that Joseph came aforetime with all evidence of the truth; but you never ceased to throw doubt on all [the messages] that he brought you - so much so that when he died, you said, 'Never will God send any apostle [even] after him!' "In this way God lets go astray such as waste their own selves by throwing suspicion [on His revelations] 34 those who contend regarding Allah's Signs without any evidence that might have come to them. That is exceedingly loathsome to Allah and to those that believe. Thus does Allah seal the heart of everyone who is proud and high-handed. 35 Pharaoh said, 'Haman, build for me a tower, that haply so I may reach the cords, 36 The way of access to the heavens so that I may be apprised of the God of Musa, and verily I believe him to be a liar. And thus fair-seeming was made unto Fir'awn the evil of his work, and he was hindered from the path. And the plot of Fir'awn ended only in ruin. 37
