Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ The Resurrection Verifier; 1 What is the sure calamity! 2 And what shall make thee know that which the Inevitable Calamity is. 3 The Thamud and the 'Ad People (branded) as false the Stunning Calamity! 4 As for Thamood, they were destroyed by the Screamer; 5 And as for A'ad, they were destroyed by a fierce roaring wind, 6 Which He sent to assail them for seven nights and eight days running. You should have seen the people prostrate like the decayed trunks of date-palm trees. 7 Canst thou (O Muhammad) see any remnant of them? 8 And Firaun, and those before him, and the dwellings that were inverted and thrown, had brought error. 9 And they disobeyed the messenger of their Lord, so He seized them with a seizure exceeding [in severity]. 10 And when the waters rose (high) We carried you in the sailing (Ark), 11 That We might make it a remembrance for you, and the keen ear (person) may (hear and) understand it. 12 So when the Trumpet will be blown, with a sudden single blow. 13 and the earth and the mountains are lifted up and crushed with a single blow, 14 Then on that Day shall happen the Event. 15 And the heaven will split asunder, for that Day it (the heaven will be frail (weak), and torn up, 16 and the angels will stand on the sides, with eight of them bearing aloft the Throne of your Lord on that Day. 17 On that day all your secrets will be exposed. 18 Then as for him who will be given his Record in his right hand will say: "Take, read my Record! 19 Certainly I thought that I should encounter my reckoning.' 20 Then he shall find himself in a life of bliss; 21 In high empyrean 22 The Fruits whereof (will hang in bunches) low and near. 23 'Eat and drink with wholesome appetite for that you did long ago, in the days gone by.' 24 But whosoever gets his ledger in his left hand, will say: "Would that I were never given my ledger, 25 "And that I had never realised how my account (stood)! 26 Would that it (my death) had ended it all! 27 "Of no profit to me has been my wealth! 28 my authority is gone from me.' 29 'Take him, and fetter him, 30 then cast him in the Fire, 31 then fasten him with a chain, seventy cubits long. 32 He did not believe in Allah, the Great, 33 and did not feel any urge to feed the needy: 34 Today he has been left here friendless; 35 Nor any food except from the discharge of wounds; 36 which no one will eat except the sinners. 37
