Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ I swear by the Day of Resurrection; 1 Nay! I swear by the self-accusing soul. 2 Does man think We shall not put his bones together? 3 Indeed, We have the power to restore his very finger tips! 4 Yet man is sceptical of what is right before him. 5 He questions: "When is the Day of Resurrection?" 6 Yet when the eyes are dazzled, 7 And the moon is eclipsed 8 And the sun and moon will be joined together (by going one into the other or folded up or deprived of their light, etc.) 9 on that Day will man exclaim "Whither to flee?" 10 By no means! NO refuge! 11 With your Lord alone will be the retreat on that day. 12 Then man will be told what he had sent ahead (of good) and what he had left behind. 13 nay, man shall be a clear proof against himself, 14 in spite of all the excuses he may offer. 15 Do not forestall (the revelation before its completion) by acting in haste. 16 It's gathering and reciting is upon Us. 17 So, as We recite it, follow its reading. 18 Then indeed, to explain its details to you is upon Us. 19 No indeed; but you love the hasty world, 20 and are oblivious of the Hereafter. 21 Countenances on that Day shall be resplendent, 22 looking up to their Sustainer; 23 And that day will other faces be despondent, 24 thou mightest think the Calamity has been wreaked on them. 25 Nay! When it comes up to the throat, 26 and it is said, 'Who is an enchanter?' 27 And he will realise that this is the parting. 28 And one shin will curl up with the other shin. 29 To your Lord on that day shall be the driving. 30
