The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
I swear by the heaven and the comer by night; 1 and what could make you know what it is that comes in the night? 2 The very brightly shining star! 3 No human soul but hath a guardian over it. 4 Let the human reflect of what he is created. 5 He is created of water pouring forth, 6 issuing from between the backbone and the breastbone: 7 God has all power to resurrect him. 8 On a Day whereon secrets shall be out. 9 Then man will have no power or any helper. 10 By the sky with its returning rain, 11 And by oath of the earth which flourishes with it. 12 the Quran is the final word, 13 not a flippant jest. 14 They are devising guile, 15 And I plot a plot (against them). 16 Give respite to the disbelievers and leave them alone for a while. 17
Allah the Almighty always says the truth.
