The Galloppers (Al-Aadeyaat)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By oath of those that sprint, breathing heavily. (The horses used in Holy War.) 1 striking sparks of fire with their hooves, 2 as they gallop to make raids at dawn, 3 And raise the dust in clouds the while, 4 forcing their way into the midst of the enemy, 5 Verily man is most ungrateful to his Lord; 6 And lo! he is a witness unto that; 7 And indeed he is ardent for the love of good (wealth, becoming greedy). 8 ۞ So does he not know? When those in the graves are raised, 9 and the secrets of the hearts are laid bare (and examined)? 10 On that day their Lord surely knows all about them! 11
