The Heifer (Al-Baqarah)

286 verses, revealed in Medina after The Cheaters (Al-Mutaffifeen) before The Spoils of War (Al-Anfaal)

In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful

Alif. Lam. Mim. 1 This is the Book; in it is guidance sure, without doubt, to those who fear Allah; 2 who believe in the unseen, and are steadfast in prayer, and spend out of what We have provided them with; 3 who believe in the Book We have sent down to you (i.e. the Qur'an) and in the Books sent down before you, and firmly believe in the Hereafter. 4 These are on a right course from their Lord and these it is that shall be successful. 5 Those who deny your message will not believe whether you warn them or not 6 Allah has set a seal on their hearts and on their hearings, (i.e. they are closed from accepting Allah's Guidance), and on their eyes there is a covering. Theirs will be a great torment. 7
