AND, INDEED, We have created man out of sounding clay, out of dark-slime transmuted 26 And the jinn We created before, of intensely hot fire. 27 And (remember) when thy Lord said unto the angels: Lo! I am creating a mortal out of potter's clay of black mud altered, 28 And when I have fashioned him and breathed into him of My spirit, bow before him in homage;" 29 So the angels fell prostrate, all of them together 30 Except Iblees, he refused to be with those who prostrated. 31 God asked him, "What is the matter with you, that you are not among those who have prostrated themselves?" 32 [Iblis (Satan)] said: "I am not the one to prostrate myself to a human being, whom You created from sounding clay of altered black smooth mud." 33 God said, "Then get out of here; for you are accursed, 34 And surely on you is curse until the day of judgment. 35 Iblis prayed, "Lord, grant me respite until the Day of Judgment". 36 The Lord said, "Your request is granted 37 till the appointed time. 38 Iblis said: "My Lord! In the manner You led me to error, I will make things on earth seem attractive to them and lead all of them to error, 39 But not such of them as are Thy bondmen single-hearted. 40 God said, "The path which leads to Me is a straight 41 Surely, as regards My servants, you have no authority, over them except those who follow you of the deviators. 42 And lo! for all such, hell will be the promised place. 43 It has seven gates, and through each gate a portion of them belong. 44

When reading the Colorful Quran in English transliterated Arabic mode, you may not notice that there is an algorithm designed to match the pause requirements of the original Arabic scripture, (waqf signs). As you may know, the original Arabic Quran has five main types of pauses, (waqf) signs. (1) Compulsory break, where the transliteration uses a full stop. (2) Optional pause with the preference for pausing, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a probability of two thirds. (3) Optional stop with an equal preference for pausing and resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a half-half probability. (4) Optional pause with the preference for resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a chance of one third. (5) Attraction pause, also called hugging, or (mu’anaka) sign, where it is compulsory to pause at either one of two nearby positions, but not both; where the transliteration inserts a comma at either one of the two locations with a half-half probability.
