When your Lord called upon Moses: "Go to the wicked people, 10 The folk of Pharaoh. Will they not ward off (evil)? 11 He said, “My Lord, I fear that they will deny me.” 12 “I feel hesitant, and my tongue does not speak fast, therefore make Haroon also a Noble Messenger.” 13 And they have a charge (of murder) against me. So I fear that they will kill me." 14 He said: 'Never so, go both of you with Our signs; We shall be with you, listening 15 Go to the Pharaoh and tell him: 'We bring a message from the Lord of all the worlds 16 [Commanded to say], "Send with us the Children of Israel."'" 17 (Firon) said: Did we not bring you up as a child among us, and you tarried among us for (many) years of your life? 18 And you did (that) deed of yours which you did, and you are one of the ungrateful. 19 Replied [Moses]: "I committed it while I was still going astray; 20 and I fled from you because I feared you. But [since] then my Sustainer has endowed me with the ability to judge [between right and wrong,] and has made me one of [His] message-bearers. 21 And this is the favor with which you oblige me: You have made the Israelites your slaves. 22 Said Pharaoh: "And what [and who] is that 'Sustainer of all the worlds'?" 23 He said, 'The Lord of the heavens and earth, and what between them is, if you have faith.' 24 The Pharaoh said to the people around him, "Did you hear that?" 25 He said: Your Lord and the Lord of your fathers of old. 26 Said he: Most surely your Apostle who is sent to you is mad. 27 Musa (Moses) said: "Lord of the east and the west, and all that is between them, if you did but understand!" 28 Said Firaun, “If you ascribe any one else as a God other than me, I will surely imprison you.” 29 [Moses] said, "Even if I brought you proof manifest?" 30 [Pharaoh] said, "Then bring it, if you should be of the truthful." 31 Thereupon [Moses] threw down his staff - and lo! it was a serpent, plainly visible; 32 And he drew out his hand; thereupon it was white for the observers. 33
