And truly, this (the Quran) is a revelation from the Lord of the 'Alamin (mankind, jinns and all that exists), 192 With it came down the spirit of Faith and Truth- 193 To (communicate) to your heart that you may be a warner 194 In plain Arabic language. 195 And indeed, it is [mentioned] in the scriptures of former peoples. 196 Is it not evidence enough for them that the learned among the Children of Israel have recognized this [as true]? 197 And if We had revealed it (this Quran) unto any of the non-Arabs, 198 And he had recited it unto them, they would not have believed in it. 199 Thus have We caused this (Admonition) to penetrate the hearts of the culprits (like a hot rod). 200 They will not believe in it until they suffer the painful torment. 201 It will come upon them unawares, and they will not comprehend it. 202 Then they will exclaim, "Could we have some respite?" 203 Do they wish to hasten Our punishment? 204 Just think: If We let them enjoy (the good things of life) for a few years more, 205 and then the chastisement of which they were being warned were to come upon them, 206 (How) that wherewith they were contented naught availeth them? 207 And We did not destroy any city except that it had warners 208 By way of reminder, and We have never been unjust. 209 And it is not the Shayatin (devils) who have brought it (this Quran) down, 210 It would neither suit them nor would they be able (to produce it). 211 Verily, they have been removed far from hearing it. 212 So call on no other god but God, lest you are condemned to torment; 213 And O dear Prophet (Mohammed – peace and blessings be upon him), warn your closest relatives. 214 and be kind to your believing followers. 215 Then if they disobey you, say: "I am innocent of what you do." 216 And rely upon (Allah) the Almighty, the Most Merciful. 217 Who sees you when you arise 218 and observes your movements among those who prostrate themselves. 219 Surely He is the All-hearing, the All-knowing. 220 Shall I inform you (of him) upon whom the Shaitans descend? 221 They descend upon every sinful liar. 222 who lends an ear to them, and most of them are liars. 223 And as for the poets [they, too, are prone to deceive themselves: and so, only] those who are lost in grievous error would follow them. 224 Did you not see that they keep wandering in every valley? 225 And that they say what they practise not?- 226 [Most of them are of this kind] save those who have attained to faith, and do righteous deeds, and remember God unceasingly, and defend themselves [only] after having been wronged, and [trust in God's promise that] those who are bent on wrongdoing will in time come to know how evil a turn their destinies are bound to take! 227
