Sad. By the renowned Qur'an, 1 But nay - they who are bent on denying the truth are lost in [false] pride, and [hence] deeply in the wrong. 2 How many generations before them did We destroy? In the end they cried (for mercy)- when there was no longer time for being saved! 3 And they marvel that there should come unto them a warner from among themselves. And the infidels say: this is a magician and a liar! 4 "Has he made the aliha (gods) (all) into One Ilah (God - Allah). This man wants to dominate you. 6 We have not heard of any such thing in the old religion. This is nothing but a fabrication. 7 "Has the Reminder been sent down to him (alone) from among us?" Nay! but they are in doubt about My Reminder (this Quran)! Nay, but they have not tasted (My) Torment! 8 Or, have they the treasuries of the Mercy of your Lord, the Almighty, the Giving? 9 Or is it that theirs is the kingdom of the heavens and the earth and what is between them? Then let them ascend by any 10 [They are but] soldiers [who will be] defeated there among the companies [of disbelievers]. 11 Before them (were many who) belied Messengers, the people of Nuh (Noah); and 'Ad; and Fir'aun (Pharaoh) the man of stakes (with which he used to punish the people), 12 And (the tribe of) Thamud, and the folk of Lot, and the dwellers in the wood: these were the factions. 13 None of them was such that it did not deny the Noble Messengers, therefore My punishment became inevitable. 14
