And assuredly We delivered the Children of Isra'il from an ignominous torment 30 [inflicted on them] by Pharaoh, seeing that he was truly outstanding among those who waste their own selves; 31 And We exalted them over the other people knowingly, 32 And We gave them of signs that in which there was a clear trial. 33 [Now,] behold, these [people] say indeed: 34 "That [which is ahead of us] is but our first [and only] death, and we shall not be raised to life again. 35 "Then bring (back) our forefathers, if what ye say is true!" 36 Are they better or the people of Tubba and those before them? We destroyed them, for surely they were guilty. 37 And We did not create the heavens and the earth and what is between them in sport. 38 We created them with definite purpose; but most of them do not understand. 39 VERILY, the Day of Distinction [between the true and the false] is the term appointed for all of them: 40 (when wrong will be distinguished from right). On this day friends will be of no benefit to one another, nor will they receive any help 41 Save him on whom Allah hath mercy. Lo! He is the Mighty, the Merciful. 42
