He created man and surely know what misdoubts arise in their hearts; for We are closer to him than his jugular vein. 16 Since the two scribes are sitting on each of his shoulders, he does not utter a word which is not recorded immediately by the watchful scribes. 17 There is not a word he utters but an observer is ready (to make note of it). 18 The trance of death will come revealing the truth: that is what you were trying to escape. 19 The trumpet will be sounded. This is the Day [you were] warned of. 20 And there will come forth every soul: with each will be an (angel) to drive, and an (angel) to bear witness. 21 “You were indeed neglectful of this, so We have removed the veil for you, and your eyesight is sharp this day.” 22 And (unto the evil-doer) his comrade saith: This is that which I have ready (as testimony). 23 (And it will be said): "Both of you throw (Order from Allah to the two angels) into Hell, every stubborn disbeliever (in the Oneness of Allah, in His Messengers, etc.). 24 "Who forbade what was good, transgressed all bounds, cast doubts and suspicions; 25 who has set up with Allah another god. Indeed, you two, cast him into the terrible punishment' 26 ۞ His accompanying devil said, “Our Lord! I did not cause him to rebel, but he himself was in extreme error.” 27 He saith: Contend not in My presence, when I had already proffered unto you the warning. 28 The Word will not be changed in My presence, nor am I an oppressor at all unto My bondmen. 29
