Have you seen the one who turned away 33 and grudgingly spends very little for the cause of God? 34 Or, does he possess knowledge of the Unseen, and can therefore see? 35 Has he not been informed of what is in the Scrolls of Moses, 36 and about Abraham who fulfilled his duty (to God)? 37 To wit, that a burthened soul shall not bear the burthen of another. 38 And that there is not for man except that [good] for which he strives 39 That his endeavours will be judged, 40 then, he shall be recompensed for it in full repayment 41 And that the end is only towards your Lord? 42 It is He who causes laughter and weeping. 43 that it is He who causes death and gives life; 44 And that He createth the two spouses, the male and the female, 45 From a seed when lodged (in its place); 46 and on Him depends the life hereafter. 47 It is He who grants people temporary and durable wealth. 48 And that He is the Lord of the Sirius; 49 that He it is Who destroyed the ancient 'Ad, 50 and Thamood, and He did not spare them, 51 and before them the nation of Noah, they exceeded in evil and were insolent. 52 And the subverted cities He overthrew. 53 and covered them with torment. 54 About which, then, of thy Sustainer's powers canst thou [still] remain in doubt? 55 THIS IS a warning like those warnings of old: 56 The Day of Resurrection draws near, 57 There is no one to unveil it apart from God. 58 So are you surprised at this fact? 59 And do you laugh instead of weeping, 60 While you are indulging in varieties. 61 Rather, prostrate to Allah and worship Him. ۩ 62
