The Inevitable (Al-Waaqe'ah)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
۞ When the great event comes to pass, 1 – and then there will be no one to deny its occurrence – 2 Abasing exalting. 3 when the earth shall be rocked 4 and the mountains fragmented 5 So that they become dust seattered. 6 [on that Day,] then, shall you be [divided into] three kinds. 7 Thus, there shall be such as will have attained to what is right: oh, how [happy] will be they who have attained to what is right! 8 And those on the left hand; how miserable shall those on the left hand be! 9 And those foremost [(in Islamic Faith of Monotheism and in performing righteous deeds) in the life of this world on the very first call for to embrace Islam,] will be foremost (in Paradise). 10 (The foremost ones) will be the nearest ones to God 11 In Gardens of Delight. 12 A large group from the earlier generations. 13 And a few of the later peoples, 14 On lined couches, 15 Reclining on them, facing each other. 16 There shall go round unto them youths ever-young. 17 With cups, and jugs, and a glass from the flowing wine, 18 Wherefrom they get no aching of the head nor any madness, 19 And with fruits, any that they may select: 20 and with the flesh of any fowl that they may desire to eat; 21 And wide eyed houris 22 Like pearls safely hidden. 23 a recompense for that they laboured. 24 No Laghw (dirty, false, evil vain talk) will they hear therein, nor any sinful speech (like backbiting, etc.). 25 Other than "Peace, peace" the salutation. 26 The Companions of the Right (O Companions of the Right!) 27 They shall recline on high amidst lote trees without thorns 28 And clustered plantains, 29 and continuous shade, 30 and waters gushing, 31 and abundant fruit, 32 That will neither finish, nor ever be stopped. 33 and raised couches 34 and their spouses We shall have brought them into being afresh, 35 and made them virgins, 36 Loving, of equal age. 37 For those of the right hand. 38
