The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
When the sun Kuwwirat (wound round and lost its light and is overthrown). 1 the stars are made to fade away, 2 when the mountains shall be set in motion, 3 when the pregnant camels shall be neglected, 4 And when the wild beasts are gathered 5 When the oceans boil over with a swell; 6 When souls are reunited (with the bodies) 7 when the buried female infant is asked 8 For what sin she was killed? 9 And when the pages are made public 10 When the world on High is unveiled; 11 and Hell is stoked, 12 And when the Garden is brought near;- 13 (Then) every soul will know what it hath made ready. 14 But nay! I swear by the stars, 15 stars which are visible during the night 16 and the night as it darkly falls, 17 and the first breath of morning. 18 Most surely it is the Word of an honored messenger, 19 Full of power, well-established (in position) with the Lord and Master of the Throne, 20 Obeyed (by the angels), trustworthy there (in the heavens). 21 And your companion is not [at all] mad. 22 He had surely seen Him on the clear horizon. 23 And he is of the unseen not a tenacious concealer. 24 And it is not the word of an accursed Satan; 25 Whither, then, will you go? 26 It is naught but a Reminder unto all beings, 27 Unto whomsoever of you willeth to walk straight. 28 And you will not, unless (it be) that Allah wills, the Lord of the 'Alamin (mankind, jinns and all that exists). 29
