Al-Takweer
The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
29 verses, revealed in Mecca after Thorns (Al-Masad) before The All High (Al-A'alaa)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
When the sunlight is rolled up. 1 And when the stars fall, dispersing, 2 And when the mountains shall made to pass away; 3 when the ten-months pregnant camels shall be abandoned, 4 When the wild beasts are herded together (in the human habitations); 5 And when the seas shall become as blazing Fire or shall overflow; 6 when the souls shall be coupled, 7 and when the female infant buried alive is asked 8 Upon what sin was she killed for. 9 And when the pages are laid open, 10 when heaven is stripped, 11 and when Hell is set ablaze, 12 And when Paradise shall be brought near, 13 then, each soul shall know what it has produced. 14 Rather, I swear by the returning 15 the planets that run their course and set, 16 and the night as it darkly falls, 17 And the morning when it brightens, 18 behold, this [divine writ] is indeed the [inspired] word of a noble apostle, 19 endowed with power and held in honour by the Lord of the Throne -- 20 Obeyed one; then trustworthy. 21 Your companion is not one possessed: 22 Surely he beheld Him on the clear horizon. 23 He is not avid of the Unseen. 24 And the Qur’an is not the recitation of Satan the outcast. 25 So where are you going? 26 This is merely a reminder to all mankind; 27 Unto whomsoever of you willeth to walk straight. 28 And you do not will except that Allah wills - Lord of the worlds. 29
True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
