The Night (Al-Layl)
21 verses, revealed in Mecca after The All High (Al-A'alaa) before Dawn (Al-Fajr)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
By the night enshrouding 1 and the day in splendour 2 And Him who created the male and female, 3 That your endeavour is for different ends. 4 As for him who gives (in charity) and keeps his duty to Allah and fears Him, 5 and believes in the truth of what is right, 6 So We will very soon provide him ease. 7 But as for him who is a miser, and self-sufficient, 8 and he belied the finest 9 We shall surely ease him to the Hardship; 10 Nor will his wealth profit him when he falls headlong (into the Pit). 11 Surely Ours is it to show the way, 12 and to Us belongs the Hereafter as well as the present world -- 13 Therefore I warn you of the fire that flames: 14 where none shall burn except the most wicked, 15 who belied and turned away, 16 He will be far away from the most pious. (The first Caliph S. Abu Bakr Siddiq) 17 one who gives his wealth to become purified, 18 They do not expect any reward 19 acting only for the sake of his Lord the Most High -- 20 surely, he shall be satisfied. 21
True are the words of God the Almighty.
