The Night (Al-Layl)
21 verses, revealed in Mecca after The All High (Al-A'alaa) before Dawn (Al-Fajr)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
By the night, when it envelops, 1 by the day when it appears radiant, 2 And by Him Who created male and female; 3 Your striving is most surely (directed to) various (ends). 4 As for him who gives (in charity) and keeps his duty to Allah and fears Him, 5 for those who spend for the cause of God, 6 Surely We will ease his way unto the state of ease. 7 But he who is greedy miser and thinks himself self-sufficient. 8 and denied the Truth of goodness: 9 Unto him therefore We shall Indeed make easy the path to hardship. 10 And his riches will not avail him when he falls headlong (into the Abyss). 11 It is indeed for Us to show the way, 12 And to Us belong the End and the Beginning. 13 I have now warned you of the Blazing Fire, 14 [the fire] which none shall have to endure but that most hapless wretch 15 Who denies and turns away. 16 But those most devoted to Allah shall be removed far from it,- 17 Who gives away his wealth, purifying himself 18 And have in their minds no favour from anyone for which a reward is expected in return, 19 but only to seek the good pleasure of his Lord Most High. 20 surely, he shall be satisfied. 21
God the Almighty always says the truth.
