The Backbiter (Al-Hummazah)
9 verses, revealed in Mecca after Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah) before Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
Woe unto every backbiter, slanderer, 1 Who amasseth wealth; and counteth it. 2 thinking that his property will make him live forever. 3 By no means! He will be sure to be thrown into That which Breaks to Pieces, 4 Would that you understood what that crushing torment is like. 5 The fire of Allah, that is ablaze. 6 Which will climb on to the hearts. 7 closed around them 8 In pillars stretched forth (i.e. they will be punished in the Fire with pillars, etc.). 9
Allah the Almighty always says the truth.
