Al-Takweer
The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
29 verses, revealed in Mecca after Thorns (Al-Masad) before The All High (Al-A'alaa)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
When the sun is folded up, 1 when the stars shall scatter away, 2 And when the mountains are driven. 3 And when full-term she-camels are neglected 4 when the savage beasts shall be brought together, 5 When the oceans surge and swell, 6 when the souls shall be coupled, 7 And the little girl buried alive is asked 8 for what sin she was killed, 9 And when the pages are laid open, 10 The curtain drawn back from the skies, 11 When Hell is set ablaze, 12 And Paradise brought near, 13 (Then) every person will know what he has brought (of good and evil). 14 So I swear by the retreating stars - 15 The stars which rise and set, 16 and by the night as it recedes, 17 And by oath of the morning when it takes birth. 18 Verily, this is the Word (this Quran brought by) a most honourable messenger [Jibrael (Gabriel), from Allah to the Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon him)]. 19 of power, given a rank by the Owner of the Throne 20 obeyed, and honest. 21 Your companion is not mad. 22 Assuredly he beheld him in the horizon manifest. 23 He (Muhammad) is not accused of lying about the unseen. 24 And it (the Quran) is not the word of the outcast Shaitan (Satan). 25 Where to are you then heading? 26 This is certainly the guidance for all (jinn and mankind). 27 (With profit) to whoever among you wills to go straight: 28 However, you will not be able to choose anything unless God, Lord of the Universe wills it to be so. 29
True are the words of God the Almighty.
