Al-Qalam 2 of 2
Those who are mindful of their Lord will be rewarded with gardens of bliss. 34 Shall We equate the Muslims to the guilty? 35 What aileth you? How ill ye judge! 36 Or, have you a Book from which you study 37 surely in it you shall have whatever you choose! 38 Or have you taken a binding promise from Us which would hold till the Day of Judgement, that you will get whatever you demand? 39 Ask them (O Muhammad) which of them will vouch for that! 40 Or have they any partners? Let them bring their partners then, if what they say is true. 41 Upon the day when the leg shall be bared, and they shall be summoned to bow themselves, but they cannot; 42 Their eyes will be lowered and disgrace will cover them. They had certainly been told to prostrate themselves before God when they were safe and sound. 43 Let Me alone with him who belieth this discourse; step by step We lead them on when they perceive not. 44 And I bear with them; verily My contrivance is sure. 45 (Muhammad), do you ask for your preaching any recompense which is too heavy a price for them to pay? 46 Is with them the unseen, so that they write down? 47 So be patient with the judgement of your Lord and do not be like the Companion of the Whale (Jonah), when he called out choking inwardly. 48 Had the favor of his Lord not come upon him, he would have been blamed, cast upon the shore. 49 But his Lord had chosen him, and He placed him among the righteous. 50 When the unbelievers hear this Exhortation, they look at you as though they would knock you off your feet with their (hostile) glances. They say: “Surely he is afflicted with madness”; 51 Whereas it is not but an advice to the entire creation! 52
True are the words of Allah the Almighty.

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
